This is actually a good thing because it means he's recognizing that if he gets his work done at school he wouldn't have to do it at home. I'm going to address why his work isn't getting done in another post. :)Courtneyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13677010442934664757noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12126103.post-28073036821634662322009-12-10T03:36:29.371-06:002009-12-10T03:36:29.371-06:00I was a chronic liar as a kid. I recently posted about it, if you want to know what it's like from the child's perspective.

http://lifeonplanetearth.wordpress.com/2009/11/22/lets-talk-about-child-restrictions-lying/

The basic issue for me was FEAR of being punished. I'm putting a new post up today about an alternative discipline which focuses on connecting with kids rather than instilling fear them.

I'm so happy to see you are advocating for Cathryn & Connor! We are just about to start the process for siblings with the same special need in either Russia or Ukraine. We're getting excited.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12126103.post-61634773730480559142009-12-09T11:13:15.780-06:002009-12-09T11:13:15.780-06:00It is funny to me to see that you and I have some ...It is funny to me to see that you and I have some of the same "trust" issues with our kids. I still have times when my 12 year old loses priveleges and has to empty out his backpack like a little kid on the kitchen table because he conveniently "forgets" about something he just didn't want to do! He learned a very hard lesson on responsibility a few weeks ago that culminates today. His school has special field trips for the kids with really good grades and "excellent" in citizenship all sememster. He had 3 days to return his permission slip and money...he forgot it all 3 days!! He texted his Nana to bring it to himat lunch on the last day, which was also against the rules, and the principal refused to accept it. His older brother who remembered his permission slip in the same time frame will be spending the day at The City Museum today, while the younger one spends the day in class - all due to his lack of personal responsibility! I bet that is a mistake he won't make again though!! LOL Merry Christmas!!
MarshaAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00745192498626871220noreply@blogger.com
