Mark and I have been married since June of 1999. We've lived in Texas, Michigan, and now Missouri. Our two little boys came home in December 2007, our first two little girls came home in May 2009, and our new little girls came home in March 2011--all from Ukraine. We don't know if God is finished with our family yet or not, but we're happy to follow His plan wherever He may take us. Join us on this journey through adoption, parenthood, and beyond!
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11
We went to a Tim Hawkins concert a couple of weeks ago (at a home school conference) and he said that you will rarely meet an atheist home schooler because after a week, said atheist would be crying out to God. I'm going to say the same thing about being a SAHM to six kids. Ain't I encouraging!???:):):)
Actually, you are going to love your life- all of it. There's no escape on the rough days but man-o-man, you and God are going to be tight! And you can't beat all the little, tiny moments during a day where you just get to slow down for a minute and enjoy your kids. I wouldn't trade my job for all the money in the world. I love it.
If you haven't read Ann Voskamps book "One Thousand Gifts" yet, I recommend it. She has six kids too and the best part of the book for me was the reminder to love it all. The mess, the fun, the family:)
I prefer the term COO. : ) Jeff is the Chief Executive Officer but I am the Chief Operating Officer. On days (like today) when it seems like everyone woke up in meltdown mode I sometimes wish for my old job but then I remember my new and improved super high profile life changing position. :) Congrats friend!
YAY! YAY! YAY! YAY! YAY!!!!!! BOY am I behind! I'm so VERY happy for you! :) I can't wait to hear your thoughts on your first day of being home with the kids. ;)
