Slow and steady plodding

This weekend we picked up a few last items that I had wanted for the trip: travel packs of woolite, travel packs of kleenex, an air freshener (I know, I'm crazy, but last time we went there were a few places we stayed that smelled a lot like smoke. I think the apple-cinnamon smell will bring a nice touch of home to wherever we are.), more long underwear for Mark, dramamine, and travel towels. I told Mark when we got home that other than the cash from the bank, I now feel ready to go to Ukraine. We could have gone without all of that extra stuff, of course, but it will be nice to have. :) Unlike Tami, I'm not planning on starting packing until after Thanksgiving, but she did sort of put me into a panic. Thanks, Tami. ;)

The dumpster is gone but we forgot to take a picture of it before it left! We didn't spend any time on the new house this weekend as Mark was working on Saturday and then we went travel shopping. This coming weekend we will be heading to Denver to drop off one of our dogs with Mark's parents. Which is good, because currently she's driving us nuts. She knows something is up. :) At their place, she'll be able to romp in the snow with their dog, so for her it's something close to heaven!

I have a confession.
I wasn't 'technically' packing. I was just putting stuff into suitcases so they wouldn't be sitting on the computer room's floor anymore! ;) I got sick of looking at the pile everyday as I checked blogs.
Okay..so maybe it was packing...but there wasn't anything real interesting in there - unless you include kids' clothes...and those were just too cute! (I should take pictures!)

Wow - 14 days and you feel ready. That's awesome. While I'm not feeling stressed right now (we've got until January), I have the feeling I'll be working on things right up until the day we depart.
Congrats on being so organized!
Now you can really enjoy Thanksgiving.

We leave in 4 days and we've still not packed....aack!! :o) We live near Denver and I'd suggest meeting up - but we'll be on our way to Kiev! Hope to meet you there.

Wow, the clock is ticking down. How exciting! That would be cool if you got to hook up with Tami somehow. I hope we know someone when we travel. :)

If you've been maybe exposed to stomach flu, I'd ask your doctor for a prescription for anti-nausea suppositories. Sounds gross but I can't imagine squatting or worse heaving into a pit toilet. I know once you're there, being able to keep them cold will be no problem.;-) Or maybe there's a script for pills.

I'd take some hand and foot warmers plus something to read while waiting in the car during the "paper chase". A great little game we just discovered is Pocket Farkle...film canister size dice game. Seven years ago today, we were at the SDA having our appointment. My how time has flown. Jeri, mom of Alex from Sumy

Hey Mark and Courtney!

I cannot believe how soon you'l be leaving! You've been in my heart, thoughts and prayers so much. If you two think you'd have the extra time, we'd love to make the drive up to Denver for a quick visit with you. I can only imagine how busy you are tying up all your loose ends and spending time with family, but I just wanted to throw that your way if your schedule allows!
