Mark and I have been married since June of 1999. We've lived in Texas, Michigan, and now Missouri. Our two little boys came home in December 2007, our first two little girls came home in May 2009, and our new little girls came home in March 2011--all from Ukraine. We don't know if God is finished with our family yet or not, but we're happy to follow His plan wherever He may take us. Join us on this journey through adoption, parenthood, and beyond!
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11
I found your blog as I was clicking through the friendly sites section of Brenda Witte (my sister in law)'s blog. As I read your story, I couldn't help but feel like I needed to send you a note. Your boys are beautiful. I have two of my own, and while I didn't have to jump through as many hoops as you did, I know exactly what it's like to miss something or someone you never had. I very much appreciated the comments you made several times about God's hand and his timeline, which was usually different from yours. I think you have an amazing story and outlook on life. And while you may not have intended for it to go so far as California, know that as a fellow daughter of God, some of your insights as a new parent of special needs children have helped me and opened my eyes to some new opportunities. Thank you for sharing and being so open and honest. I also think we are a little bit similar...I am a night owl (note the time of this comment), I am also from Spfd, MO (though I went to Willard schools) and my parents and two siblings still live there, I have renovated a house with my husband, though not as old and cool as yours, but it did have the fake bricks in the kitchen. Yep, they're ugly. You have done a great thing, in having the patience over three years to find your family. You're right, they have always been yours, you just hadn't been introduced yet. I hope this has uplifted your day. You can find our blog (pabstadventure) linked from Brenda's site. We're not as prolific posters as you, but we try.
