A night of prayer

Last night, a bunch of friends from church got together to pray for us. What an incredible time of fellowship! God has truly blessed us with many people who love and support us, and we cherish their involvement in our adoption. It meant a lot to us to have friends gather around and pray for us and our children, and to know that they will continue to pray while we are gone.

So far we've done the important stuff: had people pray for us and borrowed DVDs. ;) I'm still working on moving the furniture. :) :) Yesterday Mark also made underbed drawers for the kids' beds. He's quite the handyman, and we both like the drawers so much that he's probably going to make some more for our bed. I've already starting filling two of the drawers. :) They're 2'x3'x8", so lots of room for toys, books, clothes, etc. We live in a little bungalow so storage is at a premium--we have to make the best use of every available space.

Tonight Mark packed up the kids' clothes which made him feel productive, and also helped clear out the living room. My plan is to lay out what we're packing on the twin beds, but in order to do that we need to unbunk the beds, and that won't happen until I finish painting, which won't happen until tomorrow night at the earliest (maybe not until Friday night). Nothing like leaving things until the last minute. ;) As our friend Micah says, I'm not a procrastinator, I just work better under a tight deadline. :) :)

I can explain to you how excited I am. Micah is standing here going "do you know these people??" because I am all giggly and jittery. LOL!

FIVE MORE DAYS!!!!

It's hard to believe that there are just 5 more days! I wish the two of you the best of luck in your new adventure in life. Your future children will appreciate all you have done to prepare for them and someday you'll get to share with them your adoption story recounted through this blog. I think you'll make great parents and look forward to seeing you when your family returns from the Ukraine.

Funny how those deadlines work!

How nice for you to have the love and prayers of your friends, and to know your trip will be surrounded by those prayers.

Wishing you all the best as your travel date arrives.

I'll add you to my prayer list of adoptive families!

You and me both sister! :)
I'm so glad your friends did that for you. What a blessing to have friends that will gather around you and pray over you and your children.
Our pastor did that for us tonight. After AWANA he pulled us into his office, hugged us and prayed over us, our trip and our children. What a blessing. I'm still a little teary...but that's me right now. Teary.

I'm glad to hear of the body of Christ surrounding you with prayer. What a great sendoff! I'm excited for you--4 days and 7 hours till liftoff!

Thank you for your comments on my blog. God has a plan for your family, and I'm thrilled to see how He's leading so many of us to adopt His kids.

Big hugs from Colorado,
Debbie
